JAI MA LAKHI..LORDESS BEUTIFULLY DRESSED IN SAREE(TRADITIONAL INDIAN DRESS)LAKHI PUJA AN OLD TRADITION OF WORSHIPING THE GODESS OF WEALTH.THE WIFE OF LORD SRI NARAYANA,THE DAUGHTER OF GREAT OCEAN (SAGAR DEVTA).WELL ITS JUST AFTER FEW DAYS THE CELEBRATION OF THE GREATEST BENGALI FESTIVAL "DURGA PUJA " GETS OVER.THE MOOD OF CELEBRATION ,WHANTHE "BIJOYA PARBON" is STILL ACTIVE THAN COMES THIS HOLY PUJA.
WE ARE OF "SIDHYANTA" CLAN ..ACTUALLY WE ARE NOT BHATTACHARYA.IN EAST BENGAL WE ARE RECOGNISED WELL SINCE WE CAME TO WEST BENGAL A DECADE AGO OUR SIR NAME WAS TRANSFORMED.WE ARE RIG VEDIC BRAHMIN(AN OLD CLAN OF BRAMHINS )SO WE HAV SOME CUSTOMS ..LIKE DEDICATING ILISH MAACH(HILSA FISH) TO THE LORDESS.than WE HAV TO GIVE TASTY YUMMY "NARKEL NARU" COCONUT SWEETS.KICHURI "A DISH OF RICE AND PULSES MIXED" PAYESH" SWEET DISH OF RICE AND MILK "THAN DEEP FRIED VEGITABLES AND FINALLY "LABHRA" A MIXED CURRY.AND THE HEAD OF THE FAMILY ..MEANS MY DAD HAS TOO COOK HIMSELF THE WHOLE PREPERATION[HOPE I DNT BE THE HEAD ANY DaY].
the morning was pleasnat with sweet fragnance of incence sticks burning.mom and other women in the housing complex gathered in our puja room to decorate and all .evry one was having a fast so did i tried to do,the smells of ghee fried in pan..the smeell of daal(pulses) ,all deep fried vegies..was iressitable ,fortunately an aunty living in 3rd floor of our appartment proposed to have lunch in her house i was happy and with no delay accepted the proposal.since than i sat in my laptop and worked .the time came i went to her house,had the meal and had a game named ludowid her brother in law after a tasty meal.after that i had a sleep wich broke within a few minutes since i had to be out for my coaching classess(really irritating)when i returned after 3 hrs i found an aura i house as if :maa lakhi " has enterd my house the enlightned lamps were glorifing..THE SOUND OF "SAKH"HOLy flute,was humming evry corners in my house.the traditionally dressed women all around the.....house enchanting mantras(holy spell)the ambience was great to be felt.last but not the least ...came "bangalir bhuri bhoj" the dinner party .there came all the invited guest ,they were served wid lots of bhog"holy dish"and all really praised the Ilish macch"hilsa" thanks to one hand that's of my dadHI HI..ALL WELL THAT ENDS WELL...ISNT IT THE PROGRAM WAS SUCESSFUL LIKE EVRY YEAR AND WE LANDED WID A GUST OF TIREDNESS..TIREDNESS AND TIREDNESS....UFF DATS WHAT THE LAKHI PUJA OF "SIDHYANTA CLAN" FOR 2009 .AND IT WILL CONTINUE DECADES AND DECADES LATER TOO.
